Over 25 years specializing in international tax, with significant expertise in structuring international operations, joint ventures and acquisitions; global transfer pricing strategies and studies; international technology and IP transfers; U.S. export tax incentives, such as IC-DISC; U.S. foreign tax credit, Subpart F and repatriation planning; indirect tax systems such as VAT and GST; and negotiating U.S. and foreign tax rulings. Doug has serviced a wide range of industries and has particular expertise in high tech, life sciences, e-commerce, and traditional manufacturing and distribution companies.

Prior to joining BPM, Doug co-founded and was West Region Managing Director of a national international tax consulting firm, and was an international tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He began his career with Exxon Corporation and spent three years as European tax counsel with Esso Europe in London. He later spent three years as European tax director for Levi Strauss in Brussels.

Doug has been adjunct international tax professor at Hastings Law School and has taught international taxation in the Masters of Taxation program at San Jose State University. He is a frequent speaker at professional seminars.
