Rich started his career as a corporate tax specialist in the New York office of Price Waterhouse in 1986. He joined BPM in 1992 so that he could work with businesses and business owners. "It's great working directly with business owners because they are very passionate about their business and great fun to work with" says Rich. "We address the taxes of both the business and the owners, together, for maximum tax efficiency and planning opportunities. And being the full service firm that we are, we can help them with all the accounting, tax & financial matters of the business, as well as the personal financial needs of the owners."

Rich's business & community activities include serving as past President & Chairman of the San Francisco Small Business Network, where his accomplishments include: increasing membership by more than 175%; serving as writer, editor & publisher of their first newsletter, Business Line; serving as writer, producer & host of the "small business segment" of the weekly cable TV show, SF Business. He is a founding member of the San Francisco Small Business Advocates. In 1997 he was awarded the Champion of Small Business by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Rich currently teaches the "Choice of Entity" course at the Small Business Development Center in San Francisco. Rich also served as the small business representative & planning committee member for San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown's: Economic Summit; Children, Youth & Families Summit; & The Welfare Reform Task Force.
