African American Shakespeare Company, San Francisco
"Thank you for all of your hard work on our set for Much Ado About Nothing. We're very excited about our opening performance Friday, May 27th."
- Sherri Young, Executive Director
Art in Action, Palo Alto
"The work you all accomplished on May 20, 2005 was so remarkable, partly because it filled our need, and partly because your employees have the same high standards that we need to meet, that the packing of art kits was extremely well done. We would do many of the same activities again. If we know in advance you will come, it will help us prepare even better! We love BPM. Please come again!"
- Judy Sleeth, Executive Director
Family Stress Center, Concord
"I am sitting in my freshly painted office, thanks to the efforts of BPM’s delightful and enthusiast volunteer crew, working wonders at the Family Stress Center’s headquarters last Friday. Staff arriving to work on Monday were impressed by the fresh paint on the exterior benches, planter box and fences. BPM Day 2005 at FSC really made a difference! It is socially responsible corporations such as BPM that make our communities better places to work and live. In this way you are helping Family Stress Center to carry out its mission - to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect by providing counseling, educational and support services focusing on the essential needs of children and their families. Thank you for your most caring support of children and families in crisis in Contra Costa County. We look forward to your return in the future."
- Marilyn Mattson, Development Director/Volunteer Coordinator
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, Daly City
"Habitat would like to thank you and the folks from Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP for helping us out on Friday, May 20th. We and the families who will be living in these houses are very grateful for all your efforts. Your work will enable low income families to realize their dreams of home ownership. We appreciate your participation in the Peninsula Habitat’s project and we hope you had a good experience and a fun day."
- Margot Meissner, Assistant Volunteer Program Coordinator
What is BPM Day?
In 1998, the firm launched our employee community volunteer program, Because People Matter Day. This is a program where the entire office closes down for one full day each year and the staff spends that time volunteering in our community. We work in teams to have fun and make a difference. After surveying our staff, we found that they not only experienced increased morale and enjoyed a great team building experience, but also felt a strong sense of accomplishment and increased pride in our community.
