Nonprofits
Burr, Pilger & Mayer have been serving the nonprofit industry
since its inception 20 years ago. The firm offers services that expand beyond traditional
accounting and tax compliance. For example, we provide assistance
with training board members, and our tax professionals are available
to consult on issues such as planned giving. To fully serve our clients
in a focused manner, we formed a Nonprofit Industry Group consisting
of over twenty members that are experienced in assisting nonprofit
organizations with accounting, auditing, tax returns, budgeting, outsourcing,
software selection, computer and human resource consulting.
Non-Profit Roundtable Calendar: Fall 2007
We work as a team with you, your board members, management, and outside
advisors to help you achieve your long-term goals. We strategically
approach our nonprofit clients as we do each client from any of the
businesses we service. We help identify and focus on your long-term
goals. We offer a comprehensive, full-service approach to financial
and business issues.
We are a wealth of resources. We have aligned ourselves with professionals
specializing in nonprofits including attorneys, bankers, capital campaign
consultants, planned giving specialists, recruiters and strategic
planners. In addition, we have developed relations with various regulatory
agencies and funding sources. Through involvement with such contacts
and our own experience in serving on boards, we are able to further
understand the environment you are facing.
We are committed. Our commitment is best summarized in our motto Because
People Matter. Our commitment to the field of accounting is apparent
in the type of service we provide and the tools that we use. The firm
as a whole has demonstrated a commitment to serving our community
and supporting nonprofits. In 1993, we founded the Burr, Pilger &
Mayer Foundation to give to local charities within our community.
Our principals serve on a variety of charitable Boards and hold other
local leadership positions and our staff are active members in many
local community organizations. Twice a year our firm closes its doors
and all our staff spend a half day in the community doing volunteer
service, aptly named Because People Matter Day.
Each Spring and Fall BPM and our co-sponsors provide quality training
sessions for our clients and friends of the nonprofit sector. To view

Calendar link above.
